When you connected directly with ethernet, did you connect to your router or directly to your modem? I'm wondering if maybe your router is blocking the return, or not communicating with Mountain Lion correctly. I had seen on some other posts where people fixed some networking problems by lowering the Maximum Transmission Unit MTU. Long ago, there used to be a problem where OS X wouldn't connect with the standard of and it had to be reduced. I can't remember the number to use, but sounds familiar could just be the year Columbus sailed the ocean blue.
Sep 4, AM. My Router is a Wireless Hub which combines router and modem in one. I have tried changing the MTU, but it didn't improve matters. So now I am discussing the case with my ISP in the hope that they are the cause of the problem.
It is an Asian Call Centre, and they are claiming there is a fault with their servers which should be fixed within 24 hurs, but I suspect I am being flim-flammed. No - no progress. As I expected the ISP's tech support was worse that useless. They just fobbed me off. Interestingly, some updates seem to have come through even though it is still showing no connection when I click on App Store or Software Update. Aperture update has just come through. So maybe it is working but just not showing a connection??? My Console app says:. Oct 11 nb-acoco. Oct 11, AM. It's not as capible as Apple's own Profile Manager, but it's free and will most of what you want. If you want to change something, you'll have to manually touch every device.
